Lighting Blue Energy Drink
By Adriana M Claassen s3881427

Introduction:

A  Energy Drink Company have assigned me a task of designing a energy drink label and container I have come up with the name for the drink lighting blue a name which suggests that it packs energy. I have done some research on how much caffeine is really in energy drinks. The aim is to design a better and healthier energy drink then what is out there on the market today.

By going around to my friend houses and interviewing and showing them my designs I got ideas to what they wonted in an energy drink. I also did videophone chats to friends around Australia.

To get to know what people wanted in an energy drink I designed an interesting survey report for the design on the energy drink.

News's media, government agencies and politicians need know what the general public wont to get the publics ideas on what is healthy and how they like to purchase the product general stores or super markets. To be able to sell the product to the national and international energy drink to the world market.

The primarily goal at the heart of the survey suggestions is how to design and conduct a successful project.

Establishing the Aims of Your research:

The main aim of my research is to give the public what they wont, a healthy brand of energy drink out there in the market. To target to have a name well known name like red bull how they are a top market brand name for the last 25 years that’s what I have set my sights on.

I wanted a product to stand out like red bull because like most new energy drinks fall in the market because they don’t have a stand out big name like Mother, Red bull, Rock star and a eye catching design logo.

I’m going to interview people who drink energy drinks and find out if there are any problems that they’re had? The main thing to find out was what caught their eye when they first picked a new product.

Breaking my research up into single element questions to make the questions more precise made my survey report more investigative producing more information. I interviewed many people from different backgrounds and ages from a wide range of careers and jobs, asking them how many energy drinks did they drink a day?  The history of energy drinks and how they are affecting people healths.

Researching and determining:

The research I did I found that not a lot of business people drink energy they are more likely to drink coffee and tea but on the other hand, I found that gamers, warehouse workers, students, tradies drink energy drinks.

In the survey, I found that some people were drinking a slab of energy drink a day to two to three cans a week which is a big different between these two.

The people between the ages of 18 to 30 years-old drink more energy drinks than those that are over the age of 30 years old.

From the survey, I found that people pay between three to four dollars a drink depending on what type of energy drink.
I found what people expected from an energy drink it is a friend for life to pick them up when they are tried, run down looking for a lift.
Something that has a kick after drinking , tastes nice, gives them a energy to slough through to new highs, it’s warm and bubbly feeling most of them wanted the cans to be shorter than what a monster energy is too large and would prefer a smaller five-hour energy as an opinion.

In the survey I asked people what they wanted in a design of the can Colour and style would they like it to be stylize, classic, out there, between dark and light, elegant, edgy, hard, aggressive, colorful or sketchy.

Looking about on the Internet, I found out more interesting research that most energy drinks have more caffeine then what they say on the can because they don’t count guarana with is a natural form of caffeine so your getting a double shot of caffeine, more and more ERs are being visited to over dosed on caffeine and mixing them with alcohol due to energy drinks have doubled over the last four or more years. It suggests between 2007 and 2011 visits due to energy drinks have increased from just under 10,000 to over 20,000.

The popularity of the drinks, have increased energy and productivity, which has increased sales significantly in the last six years. Drinks are popular among the young adults between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five years. Energy drinks are causing a rising health problem because consumption of energy drinks is a rising public health problems and behavioral problems from excessive caffeine intake.

Scientific have documented harmful health effects of energy drinks, particularly for children, adolescents and young adult cause a rapid or irregular heartbeat and increased anxiety. The drinks can prove fatal for those with coronary disease or a weak heart.

Most problems associated with energy drink seem to be connected with consumption or using them in combination with drugs or alcohol.

On the average, one can of energy drink contains the same amount of caffeine as five cups o coffee.

How energy drinks are having a serious threat on teens. The issues of energy drink consumption by children for some time and are not to be sold to children. The health effects of energy drinks on children, adolescents, and young adults warning are given to highlight the side effects, consequences included “palpitations, seizures, strokes, and even sudden death.

These problems are not just American, also in Australia medical reports of over 297 reported incidents of caffeine reactions from energy drink those affected were children under the age of 17.

Methodology:

My targeting people who are age of 18 to 30 years of ages, the cultures are Australia, Americans, and United Kingdom. Their backgrounds have a mix with different backgrounds and culture. What they look like, some are computer gaming, PSP gaming, online gaming, business, university student, warehouse works, chefs, smart, casual, designer and highstreet.

Face to Face:

In the face to face survey research design with my friends, I found most of them wondered why I was doing the survey. After talking to them most of them wonted to joke around when I asked questions I explained that the survey was for my uni studies they took it seriously. The survey I did was with a female and two young men.

This is probably the most traditional method of doing a survey research design is face to face easier to get a survey do then to do it by email I send fifteen emails off two weeks ago still no word from them.

From the three people, I did the face to face interviews are very accurate. It allowed me to be selective whom I was going to ask questions to. I did get asked by them why I was doing this survey for and what would I do after I have done with the used report and why I need them for the survey. Most of them didn’t know how to answer most of the questions, so I had to reuse the questions in other ways.

Adding my judgment about who was a bit of waste of my time, it happened to most of the males keep on say things that I was not asking like how you're going with family in the middle of the question or telling a lot of jokes or other things and just saying some stupid answers that you would get from a thirteen-year-old kid.

It’s very difficult to ask personal questions without  embarrassing them. It is every time-consuming and difficult to obtain a representative sample.

Finally, coming, going and asking people these questions, it would be ideal to have had some official identification from the uni to make it legal. I learnt what people wanted in an energy drink and what they think of my logo and drink bottle.

The survey I did face to face:

Posting them to my friends around Australia was out of the question, and I didn’t get time to print off sheets to hand out to the class and didn’t get time to go around and ask for peoples email address to send the email address since I have had trouble with my computer got hit with a virus, and I don’t know if it has fully gone off my computer so that why I could not send emails.

So I did video chats with the people I could get a hold of in short notices. One on One, video phone chats, so that the person what be able to give me feedback on my project.

Easier and is a good way of targeting a certain section of people and is excellent if you need to ask a personal or potentially awkward questions.

The problems of this method that it cost a lot more than what a phone call would be, another problem with emailing person that is no one has replayed back to me; it has been two weeks and not replay it is safe to say that I don’t going to get an email back I have had some text messages from friends saying they’re too busy to fill in the survey.

I have to tell my friends some don’t care about their last name or just the anisole of their last name because I don’t want to get into shit with showing on the Internet because of the personal data.

I contact the people and ask what I’m a loud to share their personal contact what was on the survey. The next step I contact friends  who is studying to be a lawyer, and he said just to put their first name and dot with the first letter of their last name.

I done this a different way I have video call on the phone to a lot of my friends to give their opposition straight of the bat if you friends or not.
